Thank goodness! I was starting to think that you may have wandered into the Panamanian jungle and the natives put the mojo on you. Hahaha!

Applied the 2nd coat of stain on the parsons table. As soon as it's dry, I start applying the satin finish polyurethane.

We made the guesthouse bed up, so that is done.

Mrs. Ranch decided that I was going to make 'German Rouladen' for supper tonight, so I got them prepped. Steaks cut to 1/4" thick, slathered in whole brown mustard, topped with dill pickle slices & thinly sliced onions. Then I rolled them up & tied with butch's string (a total of 12 so we can freeze/vacuum pack half for later use). I'll brown them on the grill & braise them in the oven. She gets to dice up the carrots & celery that I'll need for the gravy, as well as make the mashed potatoes w/sauerkraut.

Applied 5 coats of the satin finish polyurethane on the parsons table. It looks good & best of all, it passed the boss's inspection. Some reviews said it was hard to stain & it was 'blotchy'... I think they just didn't know what they were doing. I'm planning to order another one for the guesthouse living room to use as a TV stand.

Yesterday I cleaned out everything but the greens at my community garden.

Today after church I pulled the t-posts from the community garden. Harvested some kale for dinner or the soup.

Just ran a search for "chewy granola bar recipe". This is one of the first times in a long time looking for something like where the results are filled with crazy caveman diet recipes. Is the paleo diet fad finally waning?

I've always believed that you should eat whatever tastes good... when it's time for God to punch your ticket, it won't matter. Me & the Mrs. Ranch were talking today about how more than half of our classmates are already dead. Live life to it's fullest & screw the rest. Hell, you could get T-Boned by a bus tomorrow morning...

Eat an oatmeal raisin cookie/bar, it just as healthy for you , if not more..

@w_r_ranch These things are in no way healthy but the marketers did a great job with them. Anyway two main reasons I want to try making my own:
1) More stinkin' recalls on processed packaged foods - three major brands have recalled in the last few weeks
2) The prices on the bars I like have gone up again.

As a minor reason we're being very careful of nuts with our 15 month old. There's a strong history of nut allergies in my family and we haven't tested any with crumb-cruncher #3 yet. Most to all granola bars now say "contains peanuts and nuts" not just the typical "made in facilities that process nuts"

Yesterday I spent most of the day trying to get the Gator started... I'm going to have to bring it in.

Today I made bread & cut the coated metal shelving (for the closet) to the proper depth/length & started installing them.

Took down & cleaned the last 4 hummingbird feeders so I can put them up since the last few have departed.

Finished installing the shelf supports & then glued the screw head covers on. As soon as those are dry, I'll put the shelves in place (they are already cut/fitted) & that project is done.

Yesterday we did the weekly shopping. Then I made a pot of Carne Guisada, a pot of pinto beans & some toasted rice for supper (plenty of leftovers for the next few days).

Today I cleaned & applied conditioner to our dress shoes/work boots, then a coat of polish before putting them in storage boxes.

'Seasoned' a new cast iron skillet & Mrs. Ranch's cast iron tortilla press on the gas grill.

Milled most of the trim for finishing the window replacement for the kids room. Got side tracked by some mold on the wall. This will turn into a MAJOR project. So I got frustrated and quit working on that after filling one garbage bag from the basement.

My wife told me it was time to replace my dockers and a button down shirt. So after being frustrated with the basement I got roped into cloths shopping. I hate cloths shopping almost as much as car shopping.

During that expedition I showed my wife how to get started with a manual transmission. She did really well. Found out that no one in her family can drive a stick.

Went to the apple orchard with my kids and the in-laws

Made bread.

Watered the hanging baskets, spider plants & crape myrtles.

Hung a lap quilt (wall decoration) in Mrs. Ranch's sewing room per request.

Ordered two 4-Pack Hyperikon T8 T10 T12 LED Light Tube, 8ft, 36W (75W equivalent), 6000K (Arctic Cool White), Frosted Cover for replacing the fluorescent lights in the garage. I'll rewire the fixtures when I install them.

Loaded the Gator onto the trailer & took it in for repair & maintenance. Of course it rained as soon as we started driving... We received 0.83" here & more expected. I don't like driving in the rain as much as I used too...

Ran out of pinto beans, so I have another pot soaking tonight. Also out of tortillas so that's on our list for tomorrow as well.

Trick or treaeted yesterday. After the kids wound down they finally went to sleep. I do need to find a way that only kids under four feet tall can trick or treat at my house. Maybe make up the house to look like Bag End from the Hobbit / Lord of the Rings series.

Cubs fans going nuts around here - it's getting stupid.

Just saw on Durdge that Vesezuela is telling people in the cities to start growing their own food.
1) reinforces my desire to get out of the city - I live in the middle of roughly a quarter million other people
2) at least we're practicing the groing part now
3) tin foil hat time and conspiracy theories start to roll through my head - could happen here again, only 75 years since the last time

I'd ammo up if I were you. If Trump wins this, it's going to be a riot-fest. Especially where you live.

Wolff, Illinois requires residents to obtain a Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card from the state before they can lawfully purchase or even possess ammunition. That state has been screwed up for decades because of laws like this. One only has to look at Chicago death toll to gauge how effective it is...

It's nothing like here in Texas, LOL!!!
