garbage picked trimmer

Looks like my neighbor cleaned out his shed and just put the stuff out for trash.

One of the items was an old Ryobi 2 stroke trimmer.

After putting in a spark plug and fuel it started and I trimmed around my yard.

It didn't run great and seemed a little starved. After talking to my brother I have a few ideas like replace air filter, fuel filter, and fuel line. But hey for a $2.24 spark plug and fuel it works.

@Mr_Yan who knows how long it's been sitting around, probably with fuel sitting in it too, before your neighbor threw it out. You might want to go ahead and do a carb rebuild while you're at it, pretty simple and cheap as well.

@Mike I'll look into that. I'd say there wasn't any fuel in it as the spark pulg was removed and the tank was dry. I don't know how long it has been sitting or even how old it is. the 35:1 mixture points to being old though.

I have about zero experiece with engins of any size and want to learn how to work with and maintain them. This looks like a good cheap place to start.

Mr. Yan, Since winter is starting to set in, you might want to run that motor bone dry or add some STABIL to the gas.
