I think I just found my most useful tool around the shop. A 5 gallon bucket opener! Those things are a pain in the butt to open when sealed and since picking up a bucket opener it makes life so much easier.

This is the opener i bought. Any other ideas for useful tools to make my life easier? :) :) :)

Ha Ha you are right they are a pain to get open!!!!

My favorite tool is my Gerber Multi tool. I don't go anywhere without it. Living in the sticks there is always something one needs to tweak or cut or whatever.

My next is for fishing it's a Cutco Fishermans friend Fillet Knife. Best Fillet Knife you can get. The sheath is like giant pliars for holding the fish by the mouth and it has a hook sharpener and line cutter on it. Also the blade is able to go from 6-9" with a lil slide lever in the handle. Love that thing!!!!

Next would be a palm pocket ratchet, I have no idea where I got it from or who makes it but I use it all the time. 1/4" drive and works with any sockets or screwdriver bits with the adapter. very small yet knurled edges on it so you can really tweak the thing.

Oh I could go on and on and on lol

I'm amazed how often I grab my drywall hatchet 14 oz with a 18" handle.

I have several friends who have been to rural Haiti for mission trips. Apparently the Haitians all have machetes and use then for about everything - food prep to boat building. At one point the team of Americans was digging holes with shovels and picks and some Haitians started digging the other set of holes. The Haitians with machetes and their hands were out digging the Americans with picks and shovels about 2 holes to 1. Ever since I have wanted a machete but have yet to make the purchase.

Another useful tool is a 'WeedAway".

I had one years ago, but I sold it when we moved to the ranch thinking I would never use it again... Mrs. Ranch bought me another one for my birthday as we have a bumper crop of crabgrass this year & this is the fastest & easiest way to get rid of it.

The new Turf-Tec WeedAway is a heavy duty weed removal tool designed to twist weeds out of turfgrass areas. It is made of heavy duty gauge steel and also contains an ejection rod to remove the weed from the tool after popping the weed out of the ground.

It is designed to be used on a daily basis and is made to last a lifetime. The Turf-Tec WeedAway tool uses three 1/4 inch steel spikes to twist weeds from turfgrass areas without bending over. This tool not only removes the weed, but also twists off the entire root system to prevent re-growth.

I had forgotten about one of my more important tools until the last week or two. A good hat with a brim. My garden / summer hat is a Dorfman-Pacific Cotton Aussie Hat and my winter / nicer hat is an Orvis packable felt fedora.

I currently have three wheelbarrows full of garden soil in my backyard. I would not be able to do this garden bed rebuild without borrowing a few wheel barrows. This is also the first project I have used my new wheelbarrow for - this thing is a 9 cubic foot bucket beast and I opted for the one with a solid wheel.
