Got to my garden and saw that something started eating my popcorn. So I harvested some of it. Maybe a quarter to a third. My 7 year old and 2 year old helped me husk it all. Now I have popcorn cobs drying.

I have three bags of beans to shell.

I think I need to make some drying racks. I'm running out of space.

Made my 'liquor run' to the big town of Brenham this morning. The trip was interesting as I was curious about the damage sustained from the recent hurricane/flooding.

Refilled the hummingbird feeders.

Made our Spanish rice to go with the enchiladas for supper.

Picked a small section of pink beans I still had in the ground.
Cut down the corn stalks I picked from yesterday - left the roots in the ground to decay until spring.
Pulled 26 more ears of popcorn that looked ready.

All told about half of my popcorn is out of the gound, husked, and drying a little until it is pulled from the ears.

Really starting to hate sitting behind a computer in a corporate cubical setting.

Refilled hummingbird feeders.

Cut the grass.

Hosed off the back porch again to remove the 'love bugs' bodies.

Filled & put up the new sunflower seed feeders for the redbirds & woodpeckers.

Yesterday many of the hummingbirds moved on, so I won't need to refill the feeders. As they become empty, I'll start taking them down & prep them for storage. I've been telling people for the last 6 weeks that it's going to be an early winter based on them arriving 2 weeks early & now they've departed 2 weeks earlier than normal.

Continued prepping the garden (I need to get the potatoes in the ground this weekend). This chore was cut short when it started raining cats & dogs...

Saw a new to the ranch bird today, a male Vermilion Flycatcher!!! This not not my picture, I just used it for a reference for those that may be interested.

Did the weekly shopping & picked up the herbicide as it is almost time to spray the pastures again.

Started cleaning the hummingbird feeders before putting them up.

Treated all the fire ant mounds that sprang up in the yard with Sevin.

I'm feeling better after 6 days of the flu (I'm running at about 85%). I'm behind in everything...

Made a pot of pinto beans.

Pull the mower deck off the garden tractor to sharpen the blades. I noticed the belts are worn so I left it as is & will go on Monday to get new ones. Cutting the grass this time is going to be a PITA, but it is what it is.

Made our version of Spanish rice to go with the stuffed jalapenos that Mrs. Ranch made.

Made a loaf of buttermilk bread & then used the old loaf to make bread pudding.

Great to see you up and around, even at 85%.I have cut my deer feeders off as the deer are not eating corn[acorns] and I'm being over run with hogs.Maybe they will go to my neighbors feeders. lol

Lifted the center of the south wall of my garage 2.25 to 2.5 inches. Cut out the rotted base of the studs. Replaced the sill plate. Sistered and bolted new stud sections to the original studs. I still need to setup an image hose account to post pics of it.

Went to town to get the replacement belts for the garden tractor & while replacing them I found a bad pulley on the drive belt, so I had to make a 2nd trip to town.

Cut the grass.

Made another load of buttermilk bread.

Since it's rained most of the day (1.110" thus far), I finish my household chores.

Yesterday I planted broccoli, cauliflower, snow peas and sugar snap peas in my raised beds. Today we have had about .7 inch of rain so that should do everything some good.
