It was 67 degrees & overcast this morning. made it to 78 this afternoon...

Watered the garden before the winds kicks up.

Took Mrs. Ranch to her PT session.

Did the weekly shopping.

Watered the garden with fish emulsion fertilizer.Staked tomatoes because of the high winds. Planted more cucumbers that didn’t come up.

It was a chilly 51 degrees this morning, but it's turning into a beautiful cloudless day, reaching a high of 82 this afternoon!!!

Vacuum packed the sirloins steaks & ground sirloin I picked up yesterday.

Started planting tomatoes.

Watered the garden & the flats in the greenhouse (numerous times).

It was a chilly 49 degrees this morning, but it's turning into a beautiful cloudless day, reaching a high of 84 this afternoon (kind of warm for early April)...

Continued planting tomatoes & formed/fertilized another row.

Watered the stuff in the greenhouse, then the garden & asparagus bed.

Made a couple of pear strudels for dessert.

It was a 53 degrees this morning & it looks like it's going to another beautiful day here.

Took Mrs. Ranch to her PT session.

Picked up a load of cattle feed & did some minor shopping, then fueled up the truck.

Watered the stuff in the greenhouse & then the garden.

Continued planting tomatoes & re-potted a flat of them so I don't have to water them numerous times a day.

The caladiums arrived, so I got them planted in the pots on the back porch.

Fed the cattle ahead of the rain.

Mrs. Ranch made enchiladas for our supper & I made a batch of ranch rice to go with them.

Cleaned the fan in the garage.

Watered the stuff remaining in the greenhouse.

Made a pot of green beans & potatoes for our neighbors.

Went to the vet's to pickup a refill prescription for Dieter.

Fed the cattle ahead of the rain.

Started tidying up the Crape Myrtles (growth where I don't want it).

It has started raining (0.17" thus far).

The eclipse never happen here, we were on the back porch & the sky barely darken... Looks like more government/media propaganda LOL!!!

Same here on the eclipse. Brother in Wimberley had total darkness.

Took the family to Frederiksberg for the eclipse. Pretty much total darkness. It was cloudy though.

I was shocked at the state of the countryside out that way though. All the oak trees are dying due to a fungus. Some of these ranches had near 100% devastation. Sad sight to see, I doubt there will be any oaks left 20 yrs from now and I'm betting the fungus spreads to other parts of the state.

Took the family to Frederiksberg for the eclipse. Pretty much total darkness. It was cloudy though.

I lose on the average, 2 oaks a year to Oak Wilt. This year four. I’m in Colorado County. I can see it already in another 1/2 dozen.

Hopefully all you guys got through the overnight storms ok. Blew like all get out and rained 1.5” last night down here on the coast. Picked up a half gallon bucket of mayhaws this afternoon and I have them cooking down for juice. Checked on the bees and everyone seems to be happy. Have to add a honey super to one hive probably tomorrow. All my squash, cukes, green beans and okra came up from seed and look great.

Worked from home today so I finagled bees on my lunch break. Added a honey super and fed all the hives. Planted a couple acorn squash, got a hair cut, booked a cruise overseas for 2025 and went out and grabbed Mexican food for dinner.

Went to the dentist to get the last 2 teeth pulled.

Watered the garden.

Fed the cattle.

Vacuumed my Jeep out & removed Dieter's 'mud room' for return (lasted 2 trips) as the next one is due to arrive tonight.

Installed Dieter's new 'mud room' in my Jeep.

Cut the grass.

Got a shingles vaccine on Friday and felt like crap all day yesterday. Still went to my company picnic and a fund raising gala last night. Better today. Pressure washed the 4 wheeler, installed new seat cover, changed the end on one of the water hoses, pressure washed and set up a bird bath for my wife and set up to remove bees from my soffit after I sit and rest a minute.

Started shredding the middle pasture. While I was doing that, I saw that we have a new calf (1st for this year!).

Got the bees out of the soffit and into a hive box. Painted the bird bath I set up and went and bought groceries. Wife watered the fruit trees.

I’m starting to get lily pads in my pond. I have seen them completely take over some in my area. Is there anything I can spray on them to kill them and not harm the fish,turtles etc. in the pond?

Shore-Klear, Reward or Weedtrine D, mixed with a nonionic surfactant work very well at killing lily pads. Shore-Klear is a systemic herbicide that will translocate down into the root systems killing the plant.
