The wood base for the old mailbox was 1/4" too wide for the new one, so I trimmed it with the circular saw to fit & pre-drilled the screw holes. Then cleaned & sprayed painted the base before I did the final assembly. It is now installed.
Fed the cattle.
Watered the spider plants & the hanging baskets, then put them in the greenhouse. Plugged in the heater & the oscillating fan as tomorrow night is suppose to be 33 degrees.
Continued working on the new ranch sign. Applied the adhesive & clamped the boards, then screwed the vertical braces in place so I can mark & drill the holes for the carriage bolts. After installing the carriage bolts, put more clamps on to take some of the warps out... I'll now let it sit for a week to fully cure before I cut the sign to it's final shape.
Liberally applied 'Lexol' leather conditioner & then some black shoe polish to the leather fly swatter heads in preparation for installing the new handles. Afterwards I attacked the heads to the handles & will let it cure for a couple of days.
Just got back from a week in Mexico. I needed the break, been working way too much. Didn’t do a whole lot. Cruised the island, drank beer, checked out some new beaches, taught Luke to drive a stick. He’s getting better.
