I'm back. Mrs. Ranch arrived back at home last Thursday & is recuperating slowly... Her PT will commence next week.

It's 42 degrees with 18 mph north winds, a pretty ugly day here.

Did the weekly shopping.

Made a pot of chili & a pan of cornbread for our suppers.

Vacuum packed the meat I got yesterday.

Made a big sirloin roast with potatoes, carrots, onion & celery for our neighbors as a thank you for their help the last 2 weeks.

Emptied one of the freezers & defrosted it (it's yearly thing with this one).

Cleaned & refilled the bird feeders. Then put out another suet & seed block.

Took Mrs. Ranch to the doctor's office to remove her staples. He remove all but 2, which he said were not ready to come out yet & to come back in a week. I brought her & Dieter home & then went to LaGrange to pick up medical supplies & a shower chair for her.

Did the laundry.

Watered everything in the greenhouse. Then gave the hanging basket ferns a 'haircut'.

Prepped the starter pots for planting the tomatoes.

Pruned 2 more Crape Myrtles.

Took Mrs Ranch for her evaluation & physical therapy.

Made a butter pecan cake with pecan/coconut frosting for our neighbors.

Fed the cattle.

Formed the rows for the potatoes & then cut & coated the potatoes with sulfur in preparation for planting.

Removed the insulated covers from the windows in the greenhouse.

Burned the trash (feed sacks).

It was 69 degrees when I woke up, but it's now down to 57 with a 11 mph north wind. The forecast is saying that the wind will hit 25 mph around noontime. Tomorrow is suppose to be ugly & rainy, with a high of 52 degrees...

Made the sourdough bread.

Made a butter cake with chocolate frosting for our desserts.

Fed the cattle.

Back to 74 degrees today!!!

Took Mrs Ranch to PT & then to the doctor's to remove the last few staples.

Did some of the weekly shopping. I scored 4 nice pork butts for $.99 per pound!!! I'll bone out & cure 2 of them tomorrow for buckboard bacon.
